This sterling buckle features the mythological Griffin with its lion's body and eagle's head on a antiqued, hammer finish trophy base. While the souce of the Griffin is unclear, it has roots as a symbol dating back to Ancient Egypt. The Griffen combines features of a Lion, the King of Beasts with an Eagle, the King of Birds. This majestic creature was valued for its powers of protection across numerous cultures.
